Have been using XP for over a year and have new problems. In ie6 when
downloading a large file, stops in the middle and get an error stating
"microsoft internet extensions." When downloading email, sometimes will stop
in the middle of getting the messages and get a "connection timeout error."
Will do it when all antivirus/firewall progs shut off. Connected through
ethernet cable to dsl router/wireless network. Other pcs connected thru
wireless work fine. XP has autoupdate set up and SP2 installed. No file
allocation error. Latest antivirus scan/spyware scan shows no problems.
Have rwin and mtu set to recommended values14,000 and 1500. Surfing the web,
have no problems, sending email, no problems, uploading via ftp, no problems.
Having problems with all email clients, including outlook, pegasus,
eudora....all will download a few messages and then hang. Searched net
repeatedly, no seems to be having this problem. End of rope. Any solution
short of reformat/reinstall?
