In the final phases of the setup, my pc is sending the shared content to the
xbox and that fails (quite interestingly, is has about 15,000 content
files????). At this point I have failure and the xbox says that it can't
connect to the Vista Media Center.
My network connection is good and I'm using MAC filters for security on the
Wireless segment and the whole net is inside my router's firewall. Windows
Firewall is disabled due to a GPO, and can't find any restriction on GPO that
would prevent Media Sharing. In fact, I actually can "see" my machine on the
XBox as "machine:" as a media source and also on my domain. Note: I have a
Win2003 Server running a domain, providing DNS, DHCP and Group Policies.
Sheesh. Something is going total bonzo and I can't find any FAQ on how to
troubleshoot this aside from the "following the on-screen instruction"
walk-thru. I'm not seeing anything bad in Event Viewer, ie no security audit
failures. All my ports are open inside the net. Not even a little "run
netmon and look for this...."
Does the XBox 360 have an event log that I can open? Maybe in the file
system somewhere????
Anybody know where to get a technical "blow-by-blow" on the entire
connection schema so that I can trouble shoot a piece at a time?
