Hi all,

I use my xbox360 just as a media center extender. There some TV shows that
are in 4:3 format and some are in 16:9 format. Now the problem is when I
what TV over the xbox the picture is sometime misformated. So a show with
normaly 4:3 format hat the black bars below and on top (sort of a movie
thing). I can solve this issue by switching to the channel I want to watch
then I turn off the xbox360 and turn it back on. But as you probably know
switching of and on doesn't go in a sec so if you do it 2-3 times on one
evening you are about to throw that thing out. Sometimes it also helps to
find a show that also has the format that the show you what to look has. So
I go over the TV guide switch over to the other show, switch back and
sometimes the issue is solved also. But this is more a 50/50 chance. So
turing is off and on is more reliable.
Since the TV signal comes via Fast Ethernet and not directly from the video
card of the media center I guess it's more likely a xbox issue? Before the
xbox360 as an extender we had a media center box from siemens and we never
had any problems with the TV format so I kinda think the TV itself can't be
the source...or?

Any ideas on how to solve that issue?

Try changing your zoom mode (while watching TV, hit the more Info button on
the remote, select Zoom from the menu that pops up)
