I have an Audiovox SMT5600. When I try to copy a list of MP3's from my PC to
my mini-SD card (either via the Windows Media Player sync option or just by
copying the files directly via Active Sync), invariably it copies only a few
files before the phone just hangs -- the screen says it's still copying from
a given file with a reported % completion, but it's just hanging. The phone
won't respond to any key presses, and I have to disconnect and pull the
battery out to reboot the phone.

I'm using Activesync 3.8; I've turned off all antivirus and firewall
programs on the PC, still no help. None of the music files have any DRM
protection on them.

Any ideas?

Thx.

/Bill

Sort of.

The best thing to do is to load up your miniSD card via a card reader -- it
doesn't hang, and it's at least 10 times faster than doing it directly thru
the phone. Of course, it's somewhat of a PITA since you have to remove the
card from your phone.

Hi,

I have the same pb, very annoying.

Removing the card is not a very pleasant solution as you need to remove the
cover + battery each time. Not very convenient if you want to synchronise
podcasts !

Please advise if you find a solution

Regards,
Xav

Hi,
I just "repared" activesync 4.1 via the Add/Remove programs functionality of
the Windows control panel, and now it works fine.
Xav.
