I've been trying to put windows media player into my webpage for my
coursework and I'm not entirely sure how to do it, I cant ask my tutor
because it's due on Tuesday which is the only time I will be able to
see him..... does anyone have any pointers on how to put audio into a
webpage using a windows media player plug in or something?

thanks

You can't "put windows media player into a webpage". You can embed
objects into a page, but that's flakey and very irritating for the user.
What happens if I'm looking at your page on a Mac, or a Linux box?

The best way is simply to provide a link to the content and let the
browser setup or the user decide on which player to use.

Some of my examples:

thanks mate, seems i am a bit stupid in that sense, but then again i
dont really need to publish it to the web, just to hand it in to my
course tutor. thanks for that though, once i do decide to publish my
site to the web, i will take your advice in to deep consideration

What course is this? If that's a required part of an assignment, then
the course content sounds misguided.

Ever encountered an HTML course where the content wasn't misguided? :)
