I'm encountering the same error... with a twist!
My Dell XPS 410... has been working great!
I actually really love Vista... aside from the difficult time I'm having
adapting to the new IIS interface.

My girlfriend wanted her own profile on my PC... I added one for her...
everything works great except Windows Media Center...

For the other user profile the media center will launch and work for only 15
or 20 seconds... then encounter the infamous "windows media center has
stopped working" error!

I have tried disabling various services in an attempt to resolve this with
no luck...

I thought that maybe the more we post about it... the quicker Microsoft can
help us resolve it!

Good luck to us all!

I ran into the same issue, same event error on one of my computers. I
finally tired of trying to find a solution and did a repair install of
Vista. Media Center works great now.

Thanks Jim,

I Got Dell Dimension 9200C/XPS210 with ViiV Core 2 Duo E6400

I am also getting the same error Event Info: ERROR:
SqmApiWrapper.TimerAccumulate failed; Win32 GetLastError returned 10000105
Process: DefaultDomain
Object Name: Media Center Guide
When ever I run DVD movie, the MCE crashes sometimes (3 out of 10
attempts)and the audio will be echoing and then I will have to powercycle the
system (unable to reset)
Also If I play MP3 file, for each track the sound distorts during the 20
secs of the track, and this distortion only lasts for 2 to 3 secs. This
happens to each tracks.

Finally I am also getting pop up error message saying "WINDOWS ADVANCED
NETWORKING HAS STOPPED WORKING"

Can you please guide me how you repair the Vista to fix your MCE issue
