Hi

I'm using XP Home and prefer to manage my files using Windows Explorer. Does
anyone know why it is achingly slow to respond to any mouse click? For
example, right-clicking on a file or folder (to delete it or open with a
particular programme) shows the hour-glass for up to a minute/minute and a
half before anything happens.

I have changed the icon on a couple of dozen folders from the standard
folder icon to others (using properties, customise, change icon). Could this
be causing the problem?
Are there any other ways I can speed things up a bit? Perhaps some views are
worse than other sfor slowing thing down?
