I installed media player 11, on a windows XP Media Center Edition 2002, and
all that happens is that it comes up in minimized mode. I uninstalled it and
put on media player 9 and now I still get the same (minimized mode only)
That is to say it will not run execpt as an icon. Does anyone know what
version of media player will run with windows XP Media Center Edition 2002?
any good ideas? how can I get media player to run?

Thank you
Greg

I replied to your earlier post, did you check that?

You are using MCE 2005 otherwise you couldn't have installed WMP11.

To check what version you are using:-
Settings > General > About Media Center > Software Version

'Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP cannot be installed on computers
running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 or Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2004.'
Ref:-http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/readme.aspx#InstallingthePlayeronWindowsXPMediaCenterEdition

Your problem is it's only in minimized mode, see my reply to your earlier
post on the same topic.

Thanks for your help. Question: you said "To check what version you are
using:-
Settings > General > About Media Center > Software Version"
Where do you find Settings? Is it in control panel?

Within Media Center, you should see the Settings button
Keep proceeding with the previously listed instructions from that point.
