Every time I setup home folders for users on the windows 2000 network I
followed the strategy I saw at one of the Microsoft training

1.. Create and share folder
2.. Uncheck 'Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to
child objects' under Advance in NTFS permissions.
3.. Grant Full Control to Administrators and Read & Execute to Domain
Users under NTFS
4.. Verify 'Full Access' to everyone group under Permissions in Sharing
tab.
5.. Use AD Users and Computers to create user account and specify
\servername\sharename\%username% for home folder path.

Final Result Users can get to the share on the server and see other user
folders, but can't get in to any other than their home folder.

If I follow the same steps on a 2003 server I get a different result.

Users can get in to the share and read, but not modify other users
documents, confirms with

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817009

Can someone please tell me what I need to tweak on the root share to get my
permissions to work like on a 2000 box?

Thank you,

Change "Apply onto" for NTFS permission of Domain User to "This folder
only".

Thank you very much. That's exactly what I was looking for.
