hallo group,

i'm working on a small gis-project. i've collected some data of roads
through my gps-receiver (WGS84) and pushed them into a postgre/postgis
database. but for projecting this data i have to add some srid
information to the coordinates and need 'target' srid from the
'spatial_ref_sys' table. has anyone a hint how to find the right srid ?
and how to find the right srid for the projection (i.e. mercator) ? and
finally how do i perform a simple affine transform of my data ?

thank you for help

ronald
