I bought my Sony Vaio (Model RB45GX) P4 3GHz 1GB this year on Memorial Day
and was wondering since I bought this year does that mean I have MCE 2005? If
not where can I look in my system...tia!

Do you see little icons to the left of the main items on the main page? i.e.
Recorded TV, Live TV and Movies.

If you have this then it is 2005, otherwise it is not.

The best way to see what version of MCE you have is to follow the
instructions provided at this MSKB article

How to determine the version of Media Center that you are running
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837707

Checking the system control panel will not yield an accurate answer, unless
you really are running MCE2002.
