Is it possible to have automatic/dynamic hyperlinks using ssi or as
second choice php within html?
for example if a specific_page.shtml is located as
and the hyperlinks are as follows: hyperlink1 points to
hyperlink2 points to http://mydomain.com/category1/services.html .
if i move the specific_page.shtml to http://mydomain.com/category10 /
the hyperlink1 should point to http://mydomain.com/category10/about.html
and hyperlink2 should point to http://mydomain.com/category10/services.htm
with out any need to update the files. Is this possible? if so, how
would i do it?
Re: using ssi for dynamic hyperlinks
The links within specific_page.shtml would be to about.html and
services.html (or services.htm, depending on what the real file
extension is and whether you want to omit the typos ;-) ). No SSI needed.
As in <a href="about.html">About Us</a>.
BTW, when using domain names you don't actually own in examples, use
example.com, example.org, or example.net, which are set aside for that
purpose (http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc2606.txt ). Notice I've changed
your uses of mydomain.com in the examples above.
