One of the things I used to like most about Dreamweaver is that you could
change a whole bunch of stuff on a site, then "synchronize" the local files
with the remote ones. This, in itself, isn't exactly unique. Most FTP
programs will allow you to only overwrite whatever's new.
What sets DW apart though, is that you can block off files or folders that
don't get compared. FileZilla doesn't seem to have this capability. Does
anyone know of an FTP program which does?

I actually never really trusted Dreamweaver's sync feature, and hated
the extra folders/files it created to do it.
I use SyncBack freeware. You probably only want to do the "backup" mode,
since you're most likely actually editing in one place, but it will
propogate deletions. If you are editing files in different locations and
then wanting to merge them together, check out the timestamp issues
first - and I'd suggest look at your workflow.
I use a thumbdrive as my "master" location, and sync to whatever desktop
I'm using, do my work (temp master), then sync up to the site and back
to my thumb at the end of a work session.
