I developed this site that has some content delivered through secure
connection and some through non-secure connection. http://www.mysite.com
and https://www.mysite.com for example (these are dummy URLs, sorry).
Building common look and feel by managing two separate set of menus and
graphics takes time and is really error pron. linking between the two
sections also requires hard coded URL. Is there any suggestions on how this
should be done?
To give you more about the system. internally the two sites are both hosted
on the same disk, one at public_html and one at secure_html, as set up by
the system admin. We are using shared certificate. If you need more
information, let me know. If you want to send personal reply send it to
webmaster at model dot ca.
Thanks for your input and thoughts.
Re: Sharing content between secure and non-secure sections.
Ive had to cross lines from secure/non-secure and back on many systems and
many protocols. Basically, I have always come up with a way to avoid having
the no-secure system need priveleges, by using a pass-off file. A directory
or files which both "watch" and pickup to process when something appears
there. Not sure if that helps here
