No; it has a huge impact on Google. Not having the main keywords in
text headings and the meta tags is pretty much as far as you can go in
search engine de-optimising :-)
Try a test search for the main keywords and have a look at the top
results. See if you can see what makes them the top results.
Actually, if his clients are big industry then that's even more reason
to avoid technical jargon. In big industry, big decisions (like
spending big bucks on consultancies) are taken by the big people in
the big offices with the big budgets, not the people at the sharp end
who actually know the technology. If your target audience is
high-level managers and directors, then you need to speak management
and marketing jargon, not technical jargon.
