Is there any software available (free) that will execute a Google/Yahoo
search and which will record the base sites returned from using the
I'm thinking of searching for things like "war game" etc and recording
sites that are returned such as eagames.com, download.com etc so that
the results can be stored in the hosts file. My 8-y/o stepson brought
his grandmothers computer to a halt by downloading (despite the fact
he's been banned from doing so) 50 gigabytes of war games. Fortunately
there wasn't much spyware and only 5 viruses in that lot. I thus need
to block all these war games sites and all the download sites. At the
moment I enter the search terms and type in the root of the sites
returned in order to block them. I need something faster and easier.

You'd need to check but ISTR that neither s/e provider is too happy with
the use of automated tools. google has an api that they prefer you to use.
maybe less hassle to subscribe to a block-list that can be incorporated in
two thoughts spring to mind ....
o The 'P' in PC stands for Personal
o Give the miscreant his own log-in with restricted rights - you can
effectively stop him installing anything
