rate this thread
site looking for a phrase and when I get to the page that phrase is not on
the current live version but is in the cache of the page.
I used both google and then yahoo. I have to say google was worse about it
than yahoo was. However even yahoo was behind. Thoughts?
Re: Search engine caches?
I guess it depends on how often the search engine things the site
changes. I've seen robot hits as little as week or so apart, and as
long as six months or more.
I suspect it depends on how often the page changes. My completely
uninformed opinion is if the visit and see the page has not changed,
they wait longer before visiting again. However, if the page has
changed, they don't wait as long.
However, that is just conjecture on my part, with no solid evidence one
way or the other.
