what she can do to get rid of spam in her email. Well I happily don't have
a spam problem so I really don't know what to advise. The only system I've
even looked at over the years is Mailwasher http://www.mailwasher.net/ I
did have a spam problem back then but moved host and now receive no more
than perhaps 10 a week.
The person this is for isn't too clued up on computers but knows her way
around. She uses email, web and writes letters and I think that's about it,
so the simpler to use the better. I've done the searches in Google et al,
but as they all claim to be the best/simplest... who can tell? So I'm
hoping some folks here can recommend from personal experience. Free is
always good but I guess she would be willing to pay for the right solution.
PC running Windows XP (and I guess) Outlook Express.

No, else she will be tempted to use that 'bounce' feature, and that is
not good at all.
Tell her to upgrade to Thunderbird. It has built-in, trainable Junk mail
Have her check with her ISP and see if they have a spam filter she has
not activated. (Mine has the ability to turn it off.)
