Print Preview behavior on different servers

I'm having an odd problem involving Print Preview and CSS. I hope someone
here can point me in the right direction to figure this out.

I have a website which I've put up at two different servers. One server
hosts the official version of the site which everyone is supposed to use;
the other server hosts a backup of the site which is only to be used when
the main site is down for whatever reason.

Some of the pages on the site are several printed pages long and I've just
noticed that when I try Print Preview on the main site, it only gives me
the first physical page of the six or seven pages making up that logical
page. Print Preview shows me all of the pages when I use it on the same
page on the backup server. In other words, the Copyright page is actually
five to seven pages long depending on font and page sizes used and the
backup server shows all of them but the main site shows only the first

The same odd behavior happens in current versions of Firefox, Google Chrome
and Opera so it doesn't appear to be a browser issue.

I'm trying to figure out what server setting would keep the CSS/Print
Preview from behaving the same on the two different servers.

The only other possibility that occurs to me is that the actual files on
the two servers are different and I'm looking into that now.

Are there any other possibilties that occur to anyone?

The CSS (or perhaps the HTML) must be different, I don't think there is any
other way.

There are a number of ways of approaching this, but if it were me I would
open two IE browsers, both on te same page but one pointing to the page on
one server the other on the other, then hit F12 on both of them to bring up
the developer tools and then look on the CSS tab. Maximise both and then
flip repeatedly between them so your eyes can pick out any differences, and
page down until you find what is different. Something must be. I'm sure you
could do the equivalent using some of the FireFox tools.

If you still can't find a difference then could you post two URLS (one for
each page) and I'm sure someone will spot what is different.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.

Yes, agreed.

FTP both sites in their entirety into two different directories on the
same PC, and then use a graphical file comparison tool such as Windiff
(often found in the Support Tools in the \SUPPORT\TOOLS folder of
Windows installation CDs), Compare It!, etc.

That'll tell you straight away if there any differences in any
components such as CSS files.

BTW, when originally uploading the sites, did you use FTP, and if so,
were you carefully to set the binary/ascii switches appropriately for
the type of file, or otherwise let reliable software such as Filezilla
make the choice based on correct settings?
