Hi guys,

I would really appreciate it if you could check out my website at:

I need to make sure it will work with lots of browsers and operating
I only use Macs, so I could really use some PC people to check it out.

There is quite a lot of fun, and hopefully useful free tools in the
'More' section that you might like, as well as daily news and comics.
Also, be sure to check out the fridge magnets page in more, where you
can drag those fridge magnet letters on a virtual fridge with people
all over the world.

Thanks again, I would be stoked if you could help me out,
William Lower

Well for a start, I clicked on your link and my popup blocker sprung into
life. I'd lose the popups if you don't want to upset your visitors.

Then there's the javascript mous trails. Word to the wise here, the 1990's
are over.

Your background images take forever to load.

Your homepage lacks any text or spider snacks.

1. I have a rule that I never launch websites with ads intact. I plan
for them, but I wait until I have some decent traffic before launching

2. In your case, you have a full page ad even before the content of the
first page. Many of your visitors will leave even before they get to
your site, never to return again. It doesn't matter if you're not the
one who puts it there. You need to get rid of it.

3. The popups cause the same reaction.

4. There is no content on your front page. That is the most valuable
space on your entire site. Fill it with text.

5. The flash games load outside of your box on Firefox. There's a
Firefox version for Macs... try it out and you'll see what I mean.

6. Don't force your users to have their screen set to a certain size.
Let the content of the page fill the screen. If I set my browser window
size small, I can't see the content on the page. If I set it too big, I
get a small part of it filled.

7. This seems to be a vanity site. If so, you can put whatever the hell
you want on it. If you're trying to make money with it, you need to
focus on something. What is the purpose of the site?

If it's not a vanity site, there's plenty more advice. But this'll do
for a start. :-)

Hi guy

Swampy didn't like the popup, but I've got them blocked (too) so that
didn't bother me much. What I absolutely hated was the *splash page*
which consisted of nothing but an annoying ad (the horrible kind that
are disguised as a Windows msgbox and that vibrate to get my attention
telling me that viruses have been detected or somesuch).

I fixed this by turning my javascript back off before going in again.
Probably Swampy had kept his off, which is why he didn't complain about it.

Your Home page appears to be *another* splash page, because all it has
is some nav links, an ad for the Mac, and a big ad at the bottom.
There's no clue as to where I am or why I'd want to be there. I see that
it says "William Lower" at the top, but what does that mean? "Bill
Gates" I've heard of, also Vincent Flanders, but who is William Lower
and why is he making this terrible[1] website for me?

I'm not sure why you need to use frames. Makes it hard to bookmark any
of your "content" pages.

Are you required by your host to have ads for the .tk domain at the top
of your pages? If not, get rid of them. If so, consider getting rid of
the host.
[1] Not meant to be a real insult. See to understand I'm being "cute."

Good luck with your site. I hope my critique helps.
