Today a white whale took a wrong turn and wound up going up river - up
the Delaware River in fact. Supposedly it came by the Camden
NJ/Philadelphia PA area but right now it is happily swimming in the
Trenton NJ area. Unfortunately I didn't hear about it until it was
headed toward Trenton so I couldn't hop in the car to try to get a
piccie or two for sharing.
Anyway, as you might guess, this has been a Top Story on the local
news in this area since mid-afternoon when motorists started calling
the police to report "something big and white" in the river.
Now of course since this is such a rare event, last time a whale was
spotted in the Delaware River was supposedly back in 1989 or 1985, and
that last event inspired folks to "name the whale" [and that some
folks in this group like to share their opinions] I thought I would
share that one of the local news channels is having a poll on 'what to
name the whale'; anyone interested can go to http://www.nbc10.com
[those on dial up, be forewarned - not the quickest loading site] and
Dude, Where's My Ocean?
Mikey The Mixed-Up Whale
Washington (it's crossing the Delaware!)
As of 11 PM the top two were Della-whale [50%] with Dude, Where's My
Ocean? garnering 22% of the votes so far.
[Aother warning: survey is in a pop-up]
