A week ago I created a new web site. I just registered a domain name,
pointed it to a new account on my reseller web host account, and put
a couple pages up. I did not submit it to any entity whatsoever.

I have a special logging script to tell me when anyone visits any page.

When I did a search in Google using unique text from the index.html
page, it was listed in the results page.

So am I crazy or are things really happening that fast with Google?

Yes, they are.
And there's a handful of ways to make it even faster and get higher up.
