I'm doing a site for a mate, who has already bought his web space. grrrr.
Don't you hate that they buy the crappy package and then all the stuff you
know has to be 'worked around' to try and get something sensible working.
At the moment I think I'm almost finished the design etc, so will split the
html file up and then 'include' them to save having to edit lots of
different files. Normal practice stuff. However I cannot run any CGI, or
anything else by the looks of it (just tried a phpinfo() file).
Is it still possible to do includes any other way? I'm just at that point
where I need a different view. (I'm thinking "move the bloody domain").
Re: including files
Is it on an Apache server? Do you have a Cpanel?
If so, you can check all the options in the Cpanel. Or you can ask the
host. Did you try Server Side Includes?
If there is no server side nothing, I'd say move the domain, or else
you could compile the files locally. (pre-processing?) That way you
will have to upload many files, but only edit a few.
