Greetings One & All

I seek recommendations.

Looking for a script/suite/package to manage several thousand images,
their descriptions as well as maintaining several disparate

Each index must have drill-down facilities.

End-user management (adds/deletions/changes) is a must-have.

Easily customisable would be nice but not essential.

Batch uploads is (oddly) not essential.

Platform (server resources) required is almost irrelevant.

The entire she-bang must be searchable, although this facility doesn't
need to be integral to the image management - that is, it can be either
data or site based (/waves @ Grey).

Thanks for reading.

Hi hi!

My search engine can extract APP13 description data from jpg's.  I don't
know if that's useful to you.  Note that APP13 data is *usually* inserted
manually by a photographer manipulating/saving their images.

Otherwise it does text search only.  I assume there will be a text
description on each page?

The technical axiom that nothing is impossible sinisterly implies the
pitfall corollary that nothing is ridiculous.

Dunno - matey did send over a sample of images but I don't think there's
any embeded data/text.  I'd have to check, but thanks for the heads-up
never know when that may become a useful snippet.

oh yes - as well as detail of each leaf in each of the
indicies/hierarchies (I hope).  The 'hope' meaning I hope I don't have to
build this by hand.

Personally, I would create a PHP/MySQL application. I might use
imagemagick to create thumbnails to store in a table as a blob.
