IE7 Slow?

The first page of my site, loads ok in
most browsers, but after installing IE7 I find it takes ages or just
hangs. Has anyone else found this with IE7, or is there something amiss
with my site?

Any help appreciated?

Took three seconds to load in Firefox, and three seconds to load in IE7
- is it worth adding that it took me less than a second to close the
windows after testing too? <g>

There's a couple of things it could be.

IE 7 is alot slower and more sluggish on my machine than IE6. I hate
it, but then I never used it to begin with except to test. It's just
plain slow for some people.

You could have the <sarcasm>*wonderful*</sarcasm> phishing filter
enabled. This slows down the loading of the first page loaded from any
website. I believe it's enabled by default. Go to Tools -> Phishing
Filter to turn it off.

As far as your visitors go, they will be used to slow load times, so
don't sweat it too much. That is, if it's not something specific to
your site...

I noticed the page does seem to take a long time for anything to show
up on the page in IE7. If your front page has any sort of dynamic
scrypting (php/asp, or whatever), try flushing the response buffer to
the browser right after the header is loaded in your code. That may
force the browser to at least load something while waiting for the
rest. I didn't have time to look, but the other thing that might slow
it down is a remote javascript file or call. If you have one, try
disabling the file and seeing if that helps.

That's all I have for ya. Hope it helps.

Why do all your links open in a new window?
Do you know how annoying that is?

Re: IE7 Slow?

I checked your site and it seems to take the same time to load on IE7
as it does on IE6 or Firefox 1.5 or Firefox 2.0. I say that because I'm
testing my website across all these as we speak to measure this. Maybe
it's just your implementation of IE7 ?
