somebody has putten up links to my site, and I want to refer people
coming from that site to a special page. I have found a lot of links
about how to do that with .htaccess, but it does not work for me. My
.htaccess is this:
RewriteCond % !^$
RewriteCond % ^http://(www\.)?hissite.com.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule /* http://www.mysite.com/hissite.html [R,L]
When I click on the link on hissite, the page is never loaded and the
IE Windows Flag keeps moving...
I did a test, changing the Rewrite Rule to
RewriteRule \. http://...
That does not work either, but: When my IE is waiting for the page
while I change one version of the .htaccess for the other (in either
direction) on the server, then the correct page is loaded. That seems
so weird to me.
So it seems that the condition is correct (from other sites, the
original page is loaded correctly), and the RewriteRule is correct (at
least it works when I access the .htaccess file via ftp).
Can please somebody give me a hint?
Thanks a lot, cheers
