Development of flash player for mobile devices to end

In a blog posting on Wednesday morning, another major change was
outlined: scrapping development of the company's widely known Flash
Player software for mobile browsers. Adobe plans to focus instead on
HTML 5, another platform for publishing content on the Web.

"We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to
work with new mobile device configurations

In the blog, Danny Winokur, general manager of interactive development,
wrote that Flash devopment would end "following the upcoming release of
Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook."

He said that while Flash has "enabled the richest content to be created
and deployed on the Web by reaching beyond what browsers could do," HTML
5 "is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases
