Chat room recommendations

I've been using Parachat for a chat room on my site, but I'm wanting
to explore alternatives. Here are things that I don't like about

1. Since it's entirely Java based, Google ads are practically useless;
there's no text for them to pick up.

2. Worse, Google Adsense TOS prevents me from refreshing the ad, so it
only shows one per session. A session could last for HOURS, so that's

3. In order to have multiple rooms, transcripts, and more users, I
need to pay a LOT more per month than I'm currently paying. I
currently pay $15 /month, and to get the features I want, I have to
invest $150 /month!

If I could make something from Google ads, then it might be worth the
extra month, but as it is, I'm paying for it with no return. There's
no way I could justify increasing the overhead by 1000% with no

So, here are the features that I would like to see:

1. Some way to put revenue-generating ads on there.

2. Ability to create multiple rooms (I would prefer that option be
restricted to me, and not each user; and, ideally, the rooms I create
would be permanent).

3. An accessible transcript.

4. Either unlimited users, or at least a higher number allowed.

5. The ability to have my own custom log-in, restricting the chat room
to my registered users. I DO currently do this with Parachat.

It doesn't have to be free, or even cheap; I just need to be able to
make money on it :-)  Any suggestions?

If not, then any suggestions on how to make money on the current
Parachat program?

I installed this for a client. Seems to maybe fit your needs.

Idle, that looks awesome! And $100 for a commercial license beats the
heck out of $150 a month! LOL  Was it much of a drag on the server?

Depends on usage of course, but he had around 3 rooms with about 80
users on it when I did a stress test and it was no biggie.

I refuse to let common sense cloud my judgment.
