Re: Capturing list of files in a directory
The OP's instructions are okay if your talking about your local machine.
If you're trying to get a list of files for a directory on a web site,
here's what WS_FTP Pro will do for you:
"Directory Info - DirInfo button
The Directory Info command opens a text document that displays
information about the current directory as a text document in the
default Text Viewer (as specified on the General tab of program options).
WS_FTP displays as much information as the FTP site delivers. Depending
on the site, for each file or folder within the current directory, the
following information may be shown: size, type, permission, creation
date, date last modified, and name.
You can print or save the document. "
Here is a sample listing for one file:
-rw-r--r-- 1 32308 userx 4100 Oct 8 18:13 sample.htm
I assume other FTP programs have a similar capability.
