Caching of images

I've just given the Save Pentney website a complete facelift as it was
starting to look quite cluttered, but I'm noticing that a lot of the old
images are still cached when I view the new design, causing the design to
break until I click refresh.
Presumably, other visitors are experiencing this too.
Is there a simple way I can force a visitors browser to load a fresh version
of the site, images et-al ?

I don't think so, even with a 'refresh every 30 seconds' meta (not
advisable obviously), people can still set their browsers to ignore
that I think.
But you can rename the images, as new references from stylesheets and
html code will call new images, and avoid the cached ones.

Of course. Different names for the images would have done exactly this.
Poor planning on my part.
Thanks Els.
