The least you could do was delete the /spamvertised/ URL from your
reply. Even better would have been to not reply to the message in the
first place. By all means report the spam, but don't reply to it. Many
server, the one I use included, may not have even carried the original
message, so you replying only served to repeat a message that I didn't
even see in the first place.
