Yeah, I know there's better groups for this question, but I love you
all so much more.

I have been encountering something that I gather is a pretty typical
problem with MySQL 4.x and INNODB table types. My host has proposed
upgrading to MySQL 5.0, which apparently contains a fix for this

My question is: what sort of issues am I likely to encounter? I'm not
doing anything special, and everything I have works fine on my sandbox
machine (Wampsever with php 5.x and mysql 5.0.45).  My production
machine is LAMP with php 5.x and mysql 4.x.

I don't see anything in the documentation on the MySQL website that
suggests any problems, but I just figured I'd check.

4.?  The minor version is very important.  For instance, between 4.0 and
4.1, the password encryption method was changed, and the old tables are
not compatible with the new encryption (a workaround exists for your
my.ini file).

But you really need to be asking this in comp.databases.mysql.  They'll
give you much better dope.  Ensure you include the *exact* versions,
both old and new.
