A client of mine is publishing a slightly specialist book (about the
1930s) with a fairly small expected print run - probably no more than
a few thousand copies...

...And he is ask what is the best way to promote it online.

Building and entire website on a dedicated domain seems a little
extreme for just one small book, but it would be nice to have an
official central place where everyone who has read it could discuss

What's the best way forward?

- Start a blog? (if so how/where)?
- Build a fan-page on Facebook?
- something on Twitter?
- Create a website?
- add a discussion forum to the site?

The book in question will be available on Amazon, and people will be
able to put reviews up on that site, but they might like to talk to
each other directly.

Although the book is *potentially* of general interest, in reality it
is probably a slightly specialist book about a historical subject (it
is a biography mainly about the early 1900s) , and once the book has
been wite

Any thoughts much appreciated

I'd create a web site with a dedicated domain and a forum. It's not that
expensive and if you do the SEO properly the increase in sales will be
well worth it.
