Is there any tech support at all at Affordable host? I have been unable to
ftp to or log into one of my cpanel websites there. Their chatroom is down.

I submitted a help desk ticket 24 hours ago, no response at all.

I called their 800 number and the recording said to go to their chat room or
submit a help desk ticket then disconnected the phone.

I don't know what else I can do about this.

re update about my problem with affordable host and their lack of tech
support.  I decided to submit a help desk ticket to the
new parent company of about my affordable host website
hosting problem.

And.....much to my delight, they fixed my affordable host problem within
minutes of getting my helpdesk ticket. HOOORAY!!!!!

So I am a happy customer now.

You are set up with AH, but you have to go to the dotcanada site for
help?  Don't you see the problem with that?  I would expect it to get
worse before it gets better.

I guess I'll have to try dotCanada for help.  My help ticket got a
reply that basically said "all is well" but it wasn't fixed.  I
reopened the help ticket and the reply to it bounced from what
apparently was every single email address in their help dept.  All
said their disk was full or had maxed out their quota.  

Wish I'd been warned in advance of AffordableHost selling out.  And to
think I've recommended several people to host domains with them.  So
much for my glowing reports of their top notch customer service.

I waited about 84 hours for a reply about my suddenly non-working email
from their outsourced tech support two weeks ago. It didn't really
matter much to me by then though since I moved my site after 48 hours.

The genius tech support guy emails me two days after I moved to say that
the problem was that my nameservers were pointed to someone other than
AH. Duh! I didn't even bother to reply to him. When I switched hosts, my
non-working email immediately started working again on the new host. So
much for good customer support.

BTW, for anyone interested, Tina also sold them AffordableDots.
dotCanada has now redesigned the site and - you'll love this one -
changed all the user names that people used without telling us! I could
log into AD two weeks ago. Yesterday I wasn't recognized at all. Finally
got a reply from an email to AD and got the new login info.

Needless to say, that's in the process of being moved as you read this.

For anybody else experiencing problems with AH support, I submit the
following FWIW.

This is a copy / paste of a rapid, & totally helpful response from Jeff
in Support there. It came in by email, without any instructions *not*
to reply. In fact, it says "reply above this line".

I think the key here may be to set up the subject line of your email
with your valid helpdesk ticket number. Seems to be that there's a good
chance that it may get through directly to Jeff.

Jeff is "TheNewTina".   :-)

OK, I parked using my cpanel ... BUT !!

A priority update has been submitted for the DNS zone for your domain
and the DNS system has been refreshed to pick up the correct settings.
The domain name should be resolving correctly once this change is picked
up by your ISP dns servers (typically between 4~8hrs).

If you are still having problems, please let me know and I'll have a
technician review the account right away.
