I am setting up a vpn for access to our server. I don't want users to
have access to each other's folders, so i have restricted their access
to specific folders and given them specific vpn login names and
passwords. I have created a specific vpn group and given it full access
to the main vpn folder, which all vpn users have their own folders
inside. From there, each folder is given permission to each user.
Problem is, it doesn't work like the standard password/user security
system works. If I change the group to domain users, it connects to the
remote folder, but if I use the vpn group or the vpn account, no go. I
have checked the vpn account to make sure that it belongs to the vpn
group. I have checked the sharing permissions and the security
permissions. It will let me connect if I use a group like
Administrators or DomainUsers, but not if I use the vpn group that I
made.
