DEPAUL UNIVERSITY, Chicago, IL 60614. The Department of Geography
announces a non-tenure track full-time position of Visiting Assistant
Professor in Geography with specialization in one or more of the
following areas: urban geography, possibly with planning (preferred),
economic geography, cultural geography, or geographic techniques. This
position will commence September 1, 2004. DePaul University has made a
strong commitment to enhancing diversity among both faculty and
students. We strongly encourage female candidates and candidates of
color to apply for the position. Ideally, candidates will have completed
their doctoral degree by the time of employment; however we will
consider candidates in late stages of completion of their doctoral
requirements. The Department of Geography has strengths in urban
geography, critical human geography, public policy, geopolitics, science
and technology studies, biogeography, global climate change,
geomorphology, urban GIS, remote sensing, and geospatial data
processing. We especially welcome applications from scholars who can
demonstrate competence in GIS. The successful candidate will offer
courses in the College’s general education curriculum, as well as
courses in their area of specialization for the Geography degrees.
