i found a very ennoying display bug in the PIE "full-screen" (expanded) text
fields (e,g, when you enter the body of a mail with gmail, you type in a
text field that is expanded to fullscreen.

the bug seems to have to do with word auto-completion and text wrapping.

here is how to reproduce the bug with the Motorola Q:

1) start in an empty expanded text field (e.g. like when you enter the body
of an email with gmail)

2) type "om" - you will see the suggested completion "omissions".

3) press D-pad RIGHT, it will enter "omissions " and it will position the
cursor after the trailing space.

4) repease steps 2) and 3) four more times (i.e. the word "omissions" will
appear 5 times on one line).

5) type "om" - you will see the suggested completion "omissions" on the
second line.

6) type D-pad LEFT to displace the cursor between the "o" and the "m" that
you just typed.

BUG!!!! the "om" disapeared!

7) yes, the "om" is still here but you cannot see it! proof: type any
letter and you will see the letters "o" and "m" reappear!

it's just a display bug, but it it really ennoying when editing text in
those expanded text fields, e.g. when sending email with a webmail interface
like gmail.

it took me a while to find how to reproduce it... but i saw it many times
happening, i.e. a word disapears and reappears at the end of a line.

can someone reproduce and confirm?

MSFT: is that a known bug?

yes, it's really ennoying... and strange that a bug like that made it into
the release on Windows Mobile 5!
