Hi,
I've got a Vaio FX501. When I switched it on this morning, the screen had
"garbage" on it like weird symbols etc, when it got to Windows desktop its
blurred like double-vision with large random squares appearing then
disappearing. I clicked restart, and it just powered-off and refused to come
back on. I left it for a few hours, then it came back on. I shutdown, then
the same problem again.
I opened it up and noticed that the 3v battery holder had detached on one
side from the board. I soldered it back on and fitted a new battery but it
made no difference.
I've removed the processor and tried it in another motherboard and it works
ok and I've tested the ram in an external tester.
Dead motherboard? I can't think of anthing else to try, I've only had it 2
weeks :-(
