whenever a certain domain user tries to start up outlook or internet explorer
he gets a prompt to enter his credentials
even though he is connected to the network and even when he or I change his
password
his password is replicated between DC's

anyone know why this happens?
all other domain users have no problems

thnx

After the user puts the correct username and password he is granted
access or he gets prompt again?

If he gets prompt again, check the Network Passwords in Control Panel
> User Accounts

Hello pferreira,

then the user is indeed granted access
however, the prompt should not be coming at all
since the user is part of the domain

so my question is why this is happening, and only to a certain user and not
to others

hi chriske911

does this happens in all computers?

I had the some problem in Outlook a while ago with some users but it
just stopped prompting credentials by itself...i'm still trying to
figure it out why!!

Hello pferreira,

I just found an article blaming IE7 for this behaviour
http://forums.isaserver.org/Proxy_authentication_problem/m_2002033963/tm.htm

since we are indeed 'upgrading' to IE7 this could be the reason why this
is happening to us here
what about your site?

grtz
