Hi,
I have upgraded my PC from Win2K to XP and Outlook 2003. Since then unread
mail items which are deleted still show as unread on my mobile device. I am
using Active Synch 3.8 as my iPAQ runs pocket PC 4.2. Has anyone seen this
problem or know of a way to get this synching properly.

Thanks

Grant

Hi Raj,

Thanks for that. I went through the outlined procedure and it gets rid of
the unwanted mails but does not prevent the issue reoccuring. Let me explain
in more detail.
If my mobile device is in its cradle synching with the PC and I have an
unread mail in my outlook inbox, the mobile device correctly shows 1 unread
mail. If on the PC I open the mail, this synchronizes correctly and the
mobile device shows no unread mails. If, on the other hand, on the PC I move
the unread mail to the deleted mails folder the mobile device still shows 1
unread mail instead of 0. Opening AvtiveSynch on the taskbar and choosing
synchronize makes no difference. However, removing the mobile device from the
cradle and replacing it does cause synch to work properly and the mobile
device shows 0 unread mails.

Cheers

Grant

Hi Grant,

Sorry, I misinterpreted your problem. The issue you are experiencing is
documented - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829060.

Are you upto date with the Service Packs for Outlook 2003? A similar issue
has been fixed earlier in SP1. Refer "Deleted e-mail messages are not
removed from a Pocket PC or Smartphone device" in -
