System: Win2k3 SRV (Std Edition) with SP1 in workgroup mode.

Implemented three security templates from Microsoft (hisec.inf, High
Security - Bastion Host.inf, High Security - IIS Server.inf) to lock down IIS
6.

When I launch "Local Security Policy" MMC snap-in, I had following message
box:

Security Templates

The Group Policy security settings that apply to this machine could not be
determined.
The error returned when trying to retreive these settings from the local
security policy database (%windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb) was: The
parameter is incorrect.

All local security settings will be displayed, but no indication will be
given as to whether or not a given security setting is defined by Group
Policy.
Any local security setting modified through this User Interface may
subsequently be overriden by domain-level policies.

Already tried with Q378716 and Q313222, but all failed.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your comments. I'm quite sure there must be something corrupted
on my local system, but I don't know where. I already tried with two MS KB
Q378716 and Q313222 but made no progress. Any further suggestion?

I can't find any information on Q378716 so I am not sure exactly what you
have tried but the two links I provided have fixed similar problems that I
have had in the past. Using esentutl is easy enough to try first. --- Steve
