my computer cannot load a blank dvd disc. Autoplay option is enabled. I don't
know how to get rid of this problem.

dvd disc: sony accuCORE DVD-R 1x-16x compatible

whenever I right-click the dvd drive on my computer, my pc does not respond.
I need to close the my computer application to get the computer running.

software for data burning:
iomega hot-burn pro (dvd rom drive compatiable software)
burn4free dvd 0.4.4.3
nero 7

since the hot-burn pro software came with the device. I keep it on track.

the others are for backing up burning options.

I usually use burn4free dvd .4.4.3 to burn data.

dvd rom drive:iomegadvdrw4224inq-d

pc specifications:

cpu intel dual core 1.6ghz
memory module: 1ghz
hdd: 40 gb
internet explorer 6
os microsoft windows media center edition 2005

please advise,

thank you very much for your kind assistance.

What do you mean cannot load? There's nothing on it to load. Can you use
your burning software and burn to the disk?

Is this a new problem or an ongoing problem?
Have you recently installed any programs?

It may be a compatibility issue. Try a different brand DVD.

it has been happened for quite a long time. sometimes I need to restart my pc
more than 10 times to get the dvd-ram drive read the content of a blank dvd
disc. (so i could burn data) recently it did not read at all. I wonder what
caused the problem.

whenever I right-clicked d:drive, the computer crashed and I needed to close
'my computer' to get the machine running in normality.

thanx

checked with the firmware of the drive. it is up-to-standarded and new.

Again, you need to clarify what EXACTLY is going on, your statement of "read
the content of a blank dvd " makes no sense, a blank DVD has NO content.
