Hi David,
The registry referred to is of the device. You can download and install -
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/ to access the registry on your
device and even take a backup.
A reset if like rebooting the PC. It basically restarts the phone and frees
up memory by shutting down any program that is using it. It doesn't erase
any settings but you would lose any unsaved information. You can refer to
your users manual to figure out how its done on your device.
I have tested this hack once long ago on a Pocket PC phone edition device
and it worked. Don't know if it works on a Smartphone. You would need to
soft reset so that the changes in the registry is updated on the device.
