new treo 700w - first time connecting via activesync & it just sits there
"processing" contacts. cancelled it after 30 minutes -- I'm assuming it's
hanging for some reason. it shouldn't take this long for the initial suync,
should it? any recommendations?

thanks.

Firewalls obviously serve a purpose, disabling is it a bit radical,
ActiveSync creates a new LAN connection in Windows, you want to allow
free access to this. So just disable the firewall on this adapter.
Furthermore, ive seen VPN clients interfere with this aswell, goto
properties of the new connection and make sure TCP/IP is the only one
selected.

I looked at my network connections & didn't see any new LAN connections. My
Outlook is on my local machine - no Exchange Servers involved. Pretty
simple setup. Didn't have any issues with the Treo 600 I had before this.
One thing I did notice -- Pocket Mirror is still installed (from my Treo 600
days). Could that be interfering? I also used Intellisync to connect to my
database on Salesforce.com -- could this also be presenting a problem? I
was hoping to continue to sync with Salesforce.com (without first syncing
with Outlook every time).

Comments??

Well Peter I dont know the answers to your questions they are a bit too
unique, but I would remove these other sync products and look to
reinstalling Activesync, the LAN connection will only be there when the
device is connected to your machine and is hidden when removed. Once
you get the basics syncing I'd look to experiment with extra
functionality
