I posted this question about 6 months ago and the answer was to obtain
either an x-box or Linksys Media Center Extender.

Both of which cost over $200. I am reposting in case some less
expensive alternative is now available.

have Windows Media Center XP. I have successfully recorded a tv
show onto the computer's hard drive using Media Center's Recording
feature.

My large screen tv set is in an adjacent room. Is there a method
whereby I can send the tv signal from the Media Center computer to the
tv set without using a wired connection? I do have a wireless router
that is used for
connecting to the internet on neighboring computers without using
wires.

best, Aaron

The answer is still the same, purchase an XBox 360 or a Media Center
Extender. Note, since you're still running XP you'll have to look for a v1
extender, as the new ones for Vista are not backward compatible and
vice-versa.

Or you can just move the Media Center computer into the room where the big
screen TV is and hookup with the HDMI cable from the Video Card.

If the computer has a HDMI connector or DVI connector with adapter.
