There are dozens and dozens of Toshiba laptops for well under $1,000.
Right now (but ends Saturday) Best Buy has a great deal on a Core 2 Duo
Toshiba laptop (3GB memory, 250GB hard drive) for $699. It's an A305
model (I don't remember the "S" suffix).
I would say that most Toshiba laptops are under $1,000. And under it by
hundreds of dollars.
