Whenever I run sfc /scannow at many instances, the routine doesn't recognize
the Windows XP SP2 CD in the bay and I have to click cancel that file and
then SFC continues to run and then I get the same error. Not sure why this
has been happening.

I've researched this and tried the fixes I found on microsoft support but
they don't work.

Does anyone have a solution? I know my CD is fine as I've had to do a
repair install a time or two.

Thank you S ... i did find that page previously, meticulously followed the
directions and STILL I can not get SFC to work. Oddly, I did NOT have that
registry key "sourcepath" in step 2. I even added that as a registry key and
indicated "C:\" when editing the added key.

Still did not work. Keep getting that error that files are needed "Files
that are required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL
cache. Insert your Windows XP Professional CD-ROM" ...

...and I do that and it still won't work, so i keep on hitting cancel.

SIGH...
