Hi,

On AS 4.1, there's an option to synch date & time upon connecting. I don't
want to synch my K-Jam time with my PC as they are on different time zone...
But everytime I uncheck the box and synch, the box checks itself and time is
synch !!!

Anyone with the same thing and a workaround ?

Txs

Vianney,

You could use the visiting clock feature on the device if you are in a
different time zone. On the device tap Start -> Settings -> Clock & Alarm.

to clarify, if you have the correct timezones set on _both_ the pc and
ppc, syncing the time should not cause a problem...

For example, if your pc is set to the correct eastern time, and your ppc
is set to the correct central time, syncing the clocks should not change
the time on the ppc.

Both devices work from a clock that is set to GMT time which should be
the same on both.

Well, I agree on all this except I don't want to synch my clock ! My pc is
Europe time, my ppc as well, but I'm travelling all the time and maintain my
agenda on the local-time-where-I-am basis. If I synch the time, I'm never on
time. If I change the time zone, my all calendar shifts....

At least on my previous SP3i I could not-synch and it was easier !!! but it
seems the check-box is set to be checked for ever

Thanks anyway

My work around to that issue is to simply change the PocketPC time to the
new time when I change time zones. Its simple and it works. So, sync the PPC
and your PC to the correct local time when your at home and when you travel
to a new time zone simply set the PPC time to the new local time. Set it
back to your home local time when you get home.

Otherwise there is a program called Citytime that helps with this issue of
traveling, appointments and different time zones...
