 maybe I asked this already, but is there anyway to sync files to the
storage card rather than to the rom, I'd like to keep that memory free.
Also, can WM5 view Briefcase files/folders, cause if so that might be a
different approach to syncing files?

 Hi,
Activesync only allows you to sync to the internal flash (for Windows Mobile
5.0) or ram (all older devices). It does not support synchronization to a
storage card. If you need to sync to a storage card, check out MightySync.

How can you sync to ROM, ROM is read Only Memory. Do you mean to a computer
or to a memory store?

There are programs that can backup to a memory card, my ppc came with 2 such
programs.
But backing up is different to synching- just what is it you want to do?

To expand on alan's response, activesync can only sync to files in or
under the my documents folder in main memory.

mightysync offers the ability to sync files to the storage card.

any pc based file sync program can sync files to and from a memory card
that is in a pc's card reader.

related to this, the activesync connection is the worst possible pipe to
sync large files such as music and other media. Card readers are _many_
times faster and much more reliable.

You might also take a moment to review what you are syncing. For most
people, the number of documents that get changed on a regular basis and
need to be "synced" are very few... put those in main memory and copy
files which remain static to the memory card(s) ...they will
transparently appear along with the synced files and can free up a lot
of memory.

I meant ram. lol, I want to sync a library of word documents and a few
excel documents without them using up my main memory. I'm a writer and
like to work on my stuff when I'm out and keep both copies current.
Also, I want to keep my documents on my ipaq free, it seems to run
better that way. I'll have to check out this mightysync anyone have a link?
