Is it possible to use activesync 4.5 to sync outlook stored on a laptop and
a stand alone PC...?
Both running xp pro SP2.
Does the version of Outlook need to be the same on both computers..? (ie,
office 2003/2007 etc)
If not active sync, what software can be used to achieve this ..?

 Well, not directly, no. I suppose that you could use a mobile device as a
go-between. Sync from computer 1 to the mobile device, then sync from the
mobile device to computer 2.

No, Activesync is for syncing Outlook with a Windows Mobile PDA or phone.

To sync Outlook between two PCs you can use a hosted Exchange service ($7-
15 US/month) or a free solution like a SyncML server (like Funambol. I use
it to keep Outlook sync'd on 4 PCs.) If both PCs are always on the same LAN,
several companies make Outlook sync products for $50+.

No, the versions supported depend on the software solution, however.
